Richmond Campus, Flare Project
Complete construction of all civil excavations, foundations and mechanical piping and installation the of a 225 ft. are stack within the Chevron
Refinery. Rigging of the 220,000 lb. vessel was done with tandem cranes
within the confines of an operating gas plant. To eliminate the need to
have personnel working at heights the majority of the installation of all
piping systems, platforms and trim were complete while the new flare was constructed at ground level prior to being hoisted onto its foundation.
Richmond Technology Center, QCD Building Infrastructure Upgrade
Complete mechanical and controls systems upgrade and renovation to the
buildings’ critical systems.
Richmond Technology Center, Building 10 Electrical Systems Upgrades
Building 10 is the center of ongoing R&D laboratory work within the technology center. Work included the systematic isolation of each lab
electrical system and installing independent switching as the existing
The infrastructure did not allow for the isolation of the electrical source.
Kern River Oil Field, Bakersfield
Complete installation of all oil well controls and steam control systems within
the confines of an operating oil Field. Complications included working within a 100-year-old facility with many undocumented underground obstructions and product infrastructure.
This project was delivered by Swinerton Builders, prior to the establishment of Swinerton Energy.
