Project Overview

Swinerton Energy is providing EPC contracting services for the conversion of an existing power generation facility into a Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) bio-refinery. The upgraded plant converts biogas into pipeline-quality renewable natural gas, advancing sustainable energy production and reducing emissions.

The facility includes full refurbishment and conversion of the existing digester and power generation systems. Swinerton’s EPC scope encompasses civil, concrete, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and utility work, along with specialty systems for manure and gas process equipment and piping installations.

Key Features & Technology

  • Six 1-million-gallon digester tanks refurbished with new mixers, covers, and heating loop repairs
  • RNG membrane-based upgrading system with hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) removal and new flaring system
  • Four feedstock loading and receiving pits/tanks for efficient material handling
  • One-mile manure pipeline with positive displacement pumps
  • RNG discharged at approximately 80 psi and delivered via buried pipeline to a 9-mile interconnection point
