LN2 TANK 10 AND GN2 DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM REPLACEMENT

Project Overview

Provided construction services for the replacement of an existing 27,000-gallon liquid nitrogen (LN2) tank with a new 50,000-gallon bulk storage tank.
The project included upgrades to the existing LN2 transfer system, including installation of a new vacuum-jacketed stainless steel process piping and new process controls systems. Installation of the new tank included pouring tweleve 30-foot deep cast-in-place concrete piles and new elevated tank footings.
The second phase of the project included a significant upgrade to existing gaseous nitrogen (GN2) system serving north portion of JPL campus. Included replacement of existing GN2 storage vessels and related structural work. Replacement of existing process piping included trenching and excavating through existing, operable roadways, and placement of new piping to provide service to multiple existing buildings.
