Project Overview
Swinerton completely renovated and expanded the East Bay Municipal Utilities District’s Walnut Creek Water Treatment Plant. This renovated plant added 50% of capacity and has new facilities and piping.
Phase I included 4,000 feet of piping, a four-million-gallon prestressed concrete tank, a 4,600-square-foot water treatment filter bed, a blower building, and a 16,000-square-foot chemical storage and feed building.
Phase II included a 16-million-gallon prestressed concrete tank, three concrete reclamation basins, and a decant building. Other site improvements included roads, parking areas, landscaping, and lighting. The project was built in a joint venture with Marelich Mechanical.
This project was delivered by Swinerton Builders, prior to the establishment of Swinerton Energy.
